WHO DO I CONTACT IF I’M NOT HOME WHEN MY MEDICATION IS DELIVERED?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy utilizes multiple carriers to deliver medications. If you miss your delivery, a tracking number will be provided to coordinate for you to pick up the medication from the closest carrier depot or reschedule for delivery. If you have not received your medication contact us directly via:

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY SPECIALTY MEDICATION TO ARRIVE?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy has partnered with several carriers to ensure that your medication is processed and delivered ASAP! Once the prescription is filled, Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy schedule’s to have all deliveries processed, dispatched and delivered in less than 24 hours.

WHY DO SOME MEDICATIONS NEED TO BE COUSELLED BY A PHARMACIST BEFORE DISPENSING?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy respects all standards of practice and regulations legislated by the provincial college(s) of Pharmacy. Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy will counsel all patients requiring “Schedule 1” (Prescription Only Medications) before they are dispensed to the patient. Our patients can place an order for “schedule 1 medication(s)” online or over the phone and receive counselling from a pharmacist. If you have any queries, contact Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacist and we will make sure to address all your questions and/or concerns.

DOES RX CONNECT ACCEPT FAXED PRESCRIPTIONS?

As per the college of pharmacy regulations, Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy accepts prescriptions directly faxed by the prescriber, prescription provided verbally over the phone by a physician and an original copy presented by the patient or representative to the pharmacy staff.

DOES RX CONNECT ACCEPT E-PRESCRIPTIONS FOR SPECIALTY MEDICATIONS?

Currently, e-prescribing is accepted in selective provinces, Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy will comply with provincial regulations and accept e-prescriptions where regulations considers it acceptable.

CAN I ORDER A SPECIALTY PRESCRIPTION IF I DON’T LIVE IN CANADA?

Yes, but the prescription needs to be prescribed by a registered prescriber in Canada. Provincial governing or regulatory bodies do not allow international prescriptions to be dispensed in Canada, unless the prescriber is from Canada.

WHAT IS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE?

Many patients on specialty drugs may experience large deductibles, increased out-of-pocket costs, and coverage changes that may affect their ability to purchase their medications. Hence, financial assistance can be attained via Patient Support Programs (PSPs) that have been established by pharmaceutical companies to patients who cannot afford their medication. 

WHAT IF MY MEDICATION IS NOT COVERED BY MY DRUG PLAN?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy collaborates with physicians and insurance companies to attain special or prior authorizations to request a specialty medication be covered.

WHAT IF MY DRUG PLAN DENIES THE SPECIAL AUTHORIZATION?

In the event your drug plan denies coverage for your therapy, Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacist(s) will collaborate with your physician and patient support program to seek out alternative options and potential solutions.

CAN I STILL GET THE SPECIALTY MEDICATION IF I HAVE NO INSURANCE?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy has sufficient experience relative to Patient Support Programs (PSP) that may provide compassionate medication. Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy will advocate and enroll you in a PSP and determine whether you qualify for compassionate medication via the Patient Support Program.

DOES RX CONNECT HAVE ACCESS TO ALL SPECIALTY MEDICATION(S)?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy is registered with most specialty distributors whereby we can access majority of the specialty medications. Rx Connect experts will also partner with numerous stakeholders to make sure our patients receive the medication.

DOES RX CONNECT KEEP MY SPECIALTY PRESCRIPTION ON FILE IF IT HAS REPEATS?

Yes, Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy will continue to manage all repeats on your prescription. Each time your medication is dispensed, Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy reconciles the prescription automatically. If your prescription runs out of refills our staff will connect with your physician to request a new prescription.

CAN I HAVE MY REPREATS FOR MY SPECIALTY MEDICATION ALL FILLED AT ONCE?

Yes, but certain factors may prohibit your specialty medication from being filled all at once. Our Pharmacist(s) can explain any limitations to you in greater detail. If you have any queries contact an Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacist and we will make sure to provide the necessary guidance with respect to filling your prescription.

CAN MY SPECIALTY MEDICATION BE RETURNED BACK TO THE PHARMACY?

As per the College of Pharmacy and Health Canada regulations, once any prescription has been dispensed, medications cannot be returned for a refund, even if your doctor changes your medication or you have an adverse reaction. WHAT IF I EXPERIENCE AN ADVERESE REACTION TO MY SPECIALTY MEDICATION?

If you experience and adverse event reaction, you should follow the steps outlined below:

  • Call 911
  • Contact Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy
  • Contact your Physician or Health Care Professional
  • Report the Adverse Reaction on MyCARE

IS MY MEDICATION HISTORY KEPT CONFIDENTIAL?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy maintains high level of security to protect all patients’ information. We do not share any information with any third party for any purposes. Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy staff also maintains a high level of confidentiality, all staff are legally bound by conditions of employment to protect all patient data.

CAN I TRACK MY PRESCRIPTION DELIVERY?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy maintains tracking numbers and records of all prescription(s) dispensed. Patients can log into MyCARE to review their prescription tracking number and review the delivery status.

IS MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION PROTECTED?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy is a secure site that encrypts and protect all personal and credit card information. Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy utilizes the latest encryption methods to ensure security of payment. Our Pharmacy Systems also protects your credit card information with all transactions which require payment details for any subsequent or new medication orders.

CAN I HAVE MY MEDICATION(S) DELIVERED TO AN ALTERNATIVE ADDRESS?

Rx connect Specialty Pharmacy coordinates all deliveries based on the patients need and location. Our patients have the option to coordinate their delivery online and amend the delivery address, if needed. NOTE: Once the delivery has left the pharmacy, please connect with Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy directly, to see if we can redirect your delivery to the new delivery location.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR AN ORDER?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy accepts all forms of payment, which can be made in person, over the phone, online or via Rx connects Specialty Pharmacy e-pay service. For customers who do not wish to use or share their credit card(s), they can use our e-pay service. Our payment services are safe and secure, with the highest level of security and encryption.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR DELIVERING MEDICATIONS?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy provides free delivery services for all medications that require the standard delivery windows or transport service. NOTE: Any special delivery services required above and beyond our standard services may incur an additional delivery service fee.

DOES RX CONNECT PROVIDE INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY SERVICES?

Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy patients are entitled to delivery services outside of Canada. Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy will take into consideration international delivery regulations and support all patients in attaining the correct documentation for medication delivery outside of Canada.

WHAT HAPPENS IF CUSTOMS HAS BLOCKED MY MEDCIATION FROM ENTERING AN INTERNATIONAL COUNTRY?

Every country has its own custom regulations, especially relative to medications, it is imperative to confirm with Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy whether a medication can be delivered to your country of origin.
